The Mimic

TX: Wednesday nights 14th March – 10th April 2013 at 10pm on C4

New five-part comedy series produced by Running Bare Productions and filmed on location in Bristol between August and September 2012. The series follows the fortunes of Martin Hurdle, an everyday maintenance man with an uncanny ability to mimic voices. Martin’s life takes a dramatic turn when he finds out that he could be the father of 18-year-old Steven, the son of former lover Dionne. Martin is played by talented impressionist Terry Mynott. Locations include Bristol’s floating harbour, Bedminster, St Andrews and Queen Square.

 

The Fear

TX: Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th December 2012 at 10pm on C4

New 4-part crime drama starring Peter Mullan (Tyrannosaur, War Horse) as crime boss turned entrepreneur Richie Beckett, trying to fight off both an attack on his commercial interests and a mind that seems to be disintegrating. Unbeknown to him, he has a very aggressive form of Alzheimer's. The series, which was produced by World Productions Ltd for C4, is set in Brighton but was filmed almost entirely on location in Bristol during July and August 2012. Locations included Old Market, Eastville, Kings Weston Estate and St Mary Redcliffe church. The production based at The Bottle Yard studio in Hengrove.

Upstairs Downstairs

TX: Sunday 19th February 2012 - 9.30pm BBC1

The second series of this very popular revival of the original period drama series starts on BBC1 on 19th February 2012. Although the production was based in Cardiff, Bristol locations were used regularly to recreate London on the brink of war. Look out for Queen Square, Brunswick Square, Brandon Hill and the exterior of the Council House, all of which make an appearance.

Inside Men

TX: Thursday 2nd February 2012 - 9pm BBC1

Produced by BBC Drama Production for BBC One, Inside Men is the story of three security depot workers who plan and carry out a dramatic multi-million pound cash heist. Filmed entirely on location in Bristol, the production used various city locations including The Old Bank of England and Mercure Holland House Hotel. They were based and built an extensive set at The Bottle Yard Studios in South Bristol.

Sherlock

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson's adventures in 21st Century London. A thrilling, funny, fast-paced contemporary remake of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic. Various scenes in first and second series filmed on location in Bristol. Locations include Spike Island, The Guildhall and the Victorian Bristol South Pool  - thwe   - the setting for the final scenes of series 1.

Sherlock is a Hartswood Films Production for BBC Wales co-produced with Masterpiece.

Skins series 6

TX: Monday 23rd January 2012 - 10pm E4

The award-winning Skins returns for a sixth series. Bristol is proud to have played host to all six series of this groundbreaking drama series. Filmed across the city, this series the production used locations including The Guildhall, Trooper's Hill, St Paul's Park and Greenbank Cemetery. The series will also see cameos from Chris Addison, John Sessions and Dawn Porter.

Public Enemies

TX: Tuesday 3rd January 2012 - 9pm BBC1.

Gripping two-part drama exploring the relationship between a recently-released prisoner and his probation officer. Starring Anna Friel and Daniel Mays and written by award-winning writer Tony Marchant.  Filmed entirely on location in Bristol and featuring various locations including The Old Bank of England, Bridewell Police Station, Dean Lane Playground and Hengrove Park. The production also used Bristol's Bottle Yard Studios.

The Nightwatch

Adapted from Sarah Waters' acclaimed novel, The Nightwatch tells the story of four main characters, all linked through their experiences in wartime London. Bristol locations were used to recreate 1940s London, with St Peter's Church transformed into a bombed East End church during the Blitz. The Night Watch is a BBC Wales production for BBC2.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Drama pilot by ITV for BBC4 about Douglas Adams's holistic detective Dirk Gently, who operates based on the fundamental interconnectedness of all things. An investigation into a missing cat is inextricably linked to a chance encounter with an old friend, an exploding warehouse, a missing billionaire and a plate of biscuits. Filmed on location in The Guildhall, The Bottle Yard and the Greenbank area. Starring Stephen Mangan, Darren Boyd & Helen Baxendale.
